A US-based software company building an all-in-one platform for roofing professionals. The product enables contractors to remotely measure roofs, generate detailed reports and instant estimates, and present materials to customers through web and mobile applications. The company is enhancing its aerial-image recognition capabilities and exploring new ways to apply AI across the product. The environment offers direct access to the co-founder, fast decision-making, minimal bureaucracy, and a strong culture of ownership and innovation.

We are looking for a curious, creative, and product-minded AI/ML Engineer who can significantly improve our computer vision capabilities and identify new opportunities to apply AI across the product.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys experimentation, quickly transforms ideas into working prototypes, and is comfortable independently exploring new technologies and approaches. We are looking for an engineer who can take ownership of an open-ended problem rather than wait for detailed instructions.

What makes you a great fit

2–3 years of hands-on professional experience in AI/ML, computer vision, or a closely related field.
Strong Python skills.
Practical experience building and improving real-world computer vision systems.
Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals.
Hands-on experience with PyTorch or another modern machine learning framework.
Experience with object detection, image segmentation, classification, and pattern recognition.
Experience training, fine-tuning, evaluating, and deploying ML models.
Familiarity with modern computer vision models and foundation models.
Experience using AI coding tools or agents for development, research, debugging, and rapid prototyping.
Familiarity with LLMs, multimodal AI, embeddings, or vision-language models.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with open-ended technical challenges.
Ability to move quickly from an idea or hypothesis to a working prototype.

Strong Plus

Experience working with aerial, satellite, drone, or geospatial imagery.
Experience with LiDAR, point clouds, photogrammetry, depth estimation, or 3D reconstruction.
Previous experience in construction, property technology, mapping, robotics, or a similar industry.
Experience deploying ML solutions in cloud environments.
Knowledge of GPU computing, inference optimization, or model performance optimization.
Experience with OpenCV, C/C++, or MATLAB.

Your day-to-day in this position

Develop and improve real-world computer vision systems, with a strong focus on aerial image recognition.
Build solutions involving object detection, image segmentation, classification, and pattern recognition.
Train, fine-tune, evaluate, and deploy computer vision and machine learning models.
Experiment with modern vision models, foundation models, and multimodal AI technologies.
Research new AI approaches and evaluate their potential value for the product.
Rapidly build prototypes and validate technical ideas.
Improve model accuracy, reliability, performance, and inference efficiency.
Work with visual data and develop effective data preparation, training, and evaluation pipelines.
Explore the use of LLMs, embeddings, vision-language models, and other emerging AI technologies.
Use AI coding tools and agents to accelerate development, research, debugging, and prototyping.
Think beyond individual algorithms and identify ways AI can improve the overall product and user experience.
Take ownership of technical challenges from initial research through implementation and deployment.
