What is your new project?
This AI‑driven, evidence‑based peer support platform enables health plans, self‑insured employers, and government agencies to address the serious impact of loneliness and social isolation on health outcomes, costs, and engagement rates. The platform uses a unique approach to build tailored social support networks that adapt over time and respond to improvements in users’ social and mental well‑being.

What makes you a great fit
An established digital platform is looking for an experienced Senior Backend Developer to join a dynamic and highly collaborative team. In this role, you will help design, develop, and maintain the backend infrastructure that powers the platform, ensuring it is secure, scalable, and optimized for user experience.
The ideal candidate is mission‑driven, passionate about high‑quality engineering, excited about the intersection of data and digital health, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with both local and international teams.
- 7+ years of experience as a backend developer, with strong skills in Node.js and TypeScript
- 3+ years working with MongoDB
- Deep understanding of RESTful API design and Express.js
- Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6+)
- Solid understanding of production environments and debugging
- Expertise in performance optimization and scalable architecture
- Knowledge of software engineering principles (SOLID, design patterns, OOP/FP, TDD)
- Familiarity with the Node.js ecosystem (package managers, linters, best practices)
- Excellent communication skills, team mindset, and empathy
- Ability to work with US-based teams and across time zones
- Understanding of service-oriented and event-driven architecture
Nice to Have
- Management or mentorship experience
- Experience with system architecture and modern frameworks
- Knowledge of IT systems, cybersecurity, DevOps, or compliance
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
